When Ichiro Suzuki joined the Seattle Mariners before the 2001 season, nobody knew what to expect. The first Japanese position player to make the transition to American baseball, Ichiro showed the baseball world he belonged with a bang, winning the 2001 American League MVP and Rookie of the Year Award. His 242 hits and .350 batting average helped the Mariners to 116 regular season wins, tying the 1906 Chicago Cubs for the most wins of all-time.

In honor of this great achievement, each Mariners player was presented with a large, clear glass trophy shaped like a baseball mitt. A ball with “116” on the sweet spot is nestled in the webbing of the glove, which features the facsimile signatures of the members of the 2001 Mariners. Ichiro signed this roughly 10 x 10 inch trophy in black marker, adding the inscriptions “’01” and “116”. This item comes with a LOA from Ichiro himself.
