After a stunning Game 1 of the 2001 NBA Finals where the visiting Philadelphia 76ers knocked off the heavily-favored Lakers at The Forum, led by Hall of Famer Allen Iverson’s 48 points, Los Angeles rebounded to win the next four games to win their second title in a row and the second of what would be three-straight championships.
Kobe Bryant averaged 24.6 points per game in the five-game series and scored 26 points in Game 5, where the Lakers closed out the Sixers in Philadelphia on June 15, 2001. This was Bryant’s second career title in a Hall of Famer career that saw the Black Mamba lead the Lakers to five NBA titles.
Bryant wore this yellow home Los Angeles Lakers warm up jacket during the 2001 NBA Finals Lakers' home games (1 & 2). The jacket is long sleeved and has the Lakers logo patch sewn on the upper left chest, with the NBA logo and purple Nike swoosh on the upper right chest. The front also has white, yellow and purple vertical stripes on each side. The left sleeve has the “2001 NBA Finals” patch and the inside collar has the Nike 2XL tag with the Lakers logo on the left and the NBA Authentics logo on the right and a “LENGTH+4” flag attached. Bryant’s number “8” is handwritten in black marker on the Nike tag. The back of the jacket has “LAKERS” sewn on in purple and white tackle twill. Bryant has signed his name in black marker above the Lakers’ logo on the upper left chest. This jacket comes with a LOA from the Lakers.
