Miami Hurricanes tight end Kellen Winslow wore this white ‘Canes helmet during the 2003 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl National Championship Game against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Winslow, an athletic pass-catching tight end, grabbed 11 receptions for a game-high 122 yards and a crucial touchdown reception in the first overtime. Ohio State would go on to win this contest 31-24 in double-overtime to claim the national title in a game that is now regarded as an absolute classic. 37 of the 43 starters in this game would go on to be drafted into the NFL, with Winslow selected as the sixth overall pick of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns.

This helmet is white, with Miami’s iconic “U” logo decal applied to each side. A green-orange-green stripe bisects the crown of the helmet. The facemask is white and the forehead bumper has “MIAMI” printed on it. The chinstrap features green Nike padding. Numerous decals, including a “CC” decal, Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, BCS, American flag, and number “81” decals are applied to the back of the helmet. This helmet comes with a LOA from the Head Equipment Manager of the University of Miami, which states that “two pieces of special customized interior padding” were removed from the helmet and recycled for Winslow’s 2003 season headgear.
