The 17th FIFA World Cup took place in South Korea and Japan in 2002, with Yokohama’s International Stadium hosting the final matchup between Brazil and Germany to decide the champion of the tournament. Brazil, who beat Turkey 1-0 to reach the Final, defeated a strong German team thanks to a brace from Ronaldo O Fenômeno. The current owner of Real Valladolid in Spain struck in the 67th and 79th minutes as the German attack tried and failed to beat Brazilian ‘keeper Marcos.
Offered here is a gold medal from the 2002 World Cup. The medal measures two inches in diameter. One side is etched in high relief with the 2002 World Cup logo, while the reverse side features a high relief depiction of the famous Jules Rimet Trophy. This medal is in good condition, and it comes in the original FIFA blue presentation box.
