Led by their Hall of Fame coach Lou Holtz, the University of South Carolina Gamecocks once again faced off against the Big 10’s Ohio State in the 16th annual Outback Bowl played on January 1st, 2002 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. Like the previous Outback Bowl, South Carolina defeated the Buckeyes, thanks to a Daniel Weaver field goal as time expired that gave the Gamecocks the 31-28 victory. Coming directly from the personal collection of Coach Lou Holtz, this offered 10 karat gold pendant is the same top of the ring that was given out to the players. With a dimension of 1 x ¾ inches, this pendant has “CAROLINA” across the top and “GAMECOCKS” along the bottom in raised gold lettering. “20” is on the left and “02” is on the right with the center having “USC” intertwined in red at the center surrounded by 33 cz stones, with four additional cz stones on the top and bottom of the “20” and “02”. The back has the “©JOSTENS 10K” stamp and a gold chain is still attached. This comes with a LOA from Lou Holtz and 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this item will benefit the Holtz Charitable Foundation, Inc.
