Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera is the all-time leader in saves with 652 and was the first player to ever be elected to the Hall of Fame via a unanimous ballot. 28 of those record-breaking 652 saves came during the 2002 season in which Mo battled injuries. Rivera still managed to pitch to a respectable 2.74 ERA and his first half performance earned him a spot on the American League All-Star team, his fifth selection.

Offered here is a button-down New York Yankees road jersey worn by Rivera during the 2002 season. This jersey was made by Russell Athletic and is size 48 with a “+2” EXTRA LENGTH”. “NEW YORK” is sewn across the chest in block letters in navy and white tackle twill. The back of his jersey has “42” sewn on in navy and white tackle twill, with the MLB logo patch sewn on above the number. The sleeves are capped by an expandable navy/white/navy striping pattern. The Russell Athletic tag, along with the size and “EXTRA LENGTH” flags are sewn on the bottom front left tail. Rivera has signed this jersey in bold blue marker below the “YORK” on the front of the jersey and inscribed “02 Game Used”. This jersey displays light game use and comes with a LOA from Steiner Sports for the game use and a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A56151) for the signature.
