For two decades Derek Jeter thrilled Yankee fans with both his bat and glove, leading the club into yet another of their championship dynasties. His acrobatic feats at shortstop stopped many an opposing teams rally, with the greatest of his glove exploits seeming to come when the team most needed it. His famous “The Flip” play in the 2001 ALDS that nabbed Jeremy Giambi at the plate has gone down as one of baseball’s most unbelievable moments.

This game used fielder’s glove was worn by Jeter just two seasons after “The Flip.” Jeter started off that 2003 season by colliding with Blue Jays catcher Ken Huckaby on Opening Day. The Captain spent six weeks on the DL but came roaring back by hitting .324 for the rest of the year while turning 51 double plays at shortstop.  Jeter’s 2003 Rawlings Pro-DJ2 fielder's glove is constructed of black deer tanned cowhide with contrasting white edging and brown rawhide lacing. Both red Rawlings labels are intact, and the glove has been factory customized with “Derek Jeter” embroidered in white script along the outside of the thumb. The fingertips and pocked show good use with some scuffing and abrasions visible. The stamped graphics are in silver with a “Turn 2” illustration stamped into the inside pocket. The Hall of Famer has signed the glove just below his embroidered name on the outside of the thumb in bright, contrasting silver marker. An outstanding game used glove from one of the greatest Yankees of the modern era. The glove comes with a Steiner/Jeter LOA for the game use and signature.
