The soon-to-be Hall of Famer Derek Jeter wore this Trenton Thunder hat during a rehab stint with the AA ballclub in the 2003 MiLB season. Jeter, who was named the Yankees’ captain in June of 2003, went 8-18 for a .444 batting average in his five-game stretch with Trenton, adding a double, a triple, and five RBI. Jeter returned to the Yankees on May 13th after injuring his shoulder on opening day, finishing the season with a .324 average, 10 homers, and 52 RBI as the Yankees appeared in the World Series against the Florida Marlins at the end of the year. This offered Trenton Thunder hat is navy, with a teal brim and the Thunder’s logo sewn on the front of the hat. A New Era logo is sewn on the side of the hat and the MiLB logo is sewn on the back. Jeter has signed the underside of the brim of this size 7 ¼ hat in black marker. Jeter’s number “2” is handwritten in black marker on the underside of the brim. This cap has an MLB Authenticated hologram (MT00070216) stating that the hat was taken out of play and signed after May 11th, 2003.
