Germany won their first FIFA Women’s World Cup title in 2003 with a 2-1 win over Sweden in the tournament final. The match was decided by a golden goal eight minutes into extra time as German defender Nia Künzer scored a headed goal off a Renate Lingor free kick to give Germany the sudden-death victory. Offered in this lot is a ball used during one of Brazil’s games during the 2003 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Brazil topped Group B with two wins and a draw in their three games, defeating South Korea and Norway in the first two games before drawing France in the group stage finale. Brazil fell 2-1 to Sweden in the first knockout stage. This soccer ball was manufactured by Adidas and boasts numerous scuffs and marks throughout the ball. The ball comes with a LOA from a CBF employee.
