One of baseball’s most recently elected Hall of Famers, Ivan Rodriguez played only one season for the Florida Marlins, but “Pudge” made sure it was a memorable one. The sturdy catcher, who suited up for the team in 2003 and 2003 only, led the Marlins to their second ever World Series title. Rodriguez hit .297, with 16 home runs and 85 RBI as the Marlins claimed the National League Wild Card spot. They tore through the playoffs, using the infamous Bartman incident and a NLCS MVP performance from Rodriguez to defeat the Cubs in a tense, seven game NLCS. It took the Fish only six games to win the Fall Classic, defeating the New York Yankees.
Offered is this Louisville Slugger R226 model bat that was used by Rodriguez during the 2003 season. This all-black bat displays heavy use and is un-cracked. There are several ball marks, stitch impressions, blue ink transfers and cleat imprints present throughout the barrel. There is a light coating of pine tar on the handle and Pudge’s number “7” is hand written in silver marker on the knob. This is a tremendous game used bat from a Hall of Famer during a championship season and it comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15250) and has been graded a perfect GU 10.
