This All-Star Game, held at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago, was the first to award World Series home field advantage to the winning All-Star team. The American League clinched home field advantage with a dramatic 7-6 victory, with Garrett Anderson claiming MVP honors.

     Dusty Baker signed the sweet spot of this Allan H. Selig Official 2003 All-Star Game baseball. Hall of Famers Gary Carter, John Smoltz, and Tony La Russa also signed this ball. Other signatures include Albert Pujols, Billy Wagner, Mark Prior, Woody Williams, Luis Gonzalez, Jason Schmidt, Randy Wolf, Gary Sheffield, Wendell Kim, Shawn Chacon, Lloyd McClendon, and several more.
