Presented here is a pair of size 12 ½ Fila cleats worn by noted slugger Sammy Sosa during the 2003 season when he hit his 502nd to 511th home runs of his career. Sosa batted a cool .279 with 40 home runs and 103 RBI during his penultimate season with the Chicago Cubs. These presented Fila cleats feature a red, white, and blue colorway and feature “FILA” embroidered in white on the outstep of each cleat. “FILA” appears in red on the blue tongue of each cleat. Four red lines appear at the apex of the toe box on each cleat. “SS 21” appears in faded red on the outer heel of each cleat. The Fila logo appears in faded red on the back of each cleat. Seven metal cleats are attached to hard plastic soles on each cleat that are stamped with “FILA” along the sole. Sosa signed and inscribed “GAME USED 2003 HR 502-511 10 HR-S” with a silver metallic paint pen on the outstep of the right cleat. The signature and inscription are bold, and the cleats display heavy elements of game use and contain dirt stains throughout, scuffs on the toe boxes of each cleat, loss of the plastic mudguard on the heel, and dirt on the soles. The game used cleats worn by Sosa during the 2003 season when he hit his 502 to 511 home runs for a total of 10 come with an LOA from Sosa for the game use, a COA from JSA (S16207) for the signature, and an LOA from MEARS (309918) who graded the cleats AUTHENTIC.
