Led by the NBA’s Most Valuable Player in Tim Duncan (who won the award for the second straight year), the 2002-2003 San Antonio Spurs finished the regular season with a record of 60-22. Duncan averaged 23.3 points, 12.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.9 blocks per game while shooting 51.3% from the field. The Spurs advanced through the playoffs by victories in a six-game series against each of their Western Conference playoff opponents (Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks), then defeated the New Jersey Nets – also in six games – to win the NBA championship. This began a dominate run for the Spurs of three titles (2003, 2005, 2007) over five seasons.

Presented here is a 2003 San Antonio Spurs NBA championship prototype ring - manufactured by Jostens - which is base metal containing no stones, with a large Spurs logo going across the face. A basketball net design appears on each side of the ring. This ring is an approximate size 10 with the weight being approximately 55.4 grams.
