Alex Rodriguez joined the New York Yankees in 2004, following a blockbuster trade from the Texas Rangers in the offseason. Coming off his 2003 MVP season, the 27-year-old Rodriguez came into the 2004 season with 345 home runs and 990 RBI. On May 4th against the Oakland A’s, Rodriguez garnered two milestones on one pitch, when he homered off of Mark Mulder in the 7th inning to reach his 350th career home run and his 1,000th career RBI.
This is the very baseball offered here that Rodriguez hit to collect those two milestone numbers. This game used baseball is an Official Allan H. Selig stamped ball and shows tremendous game use with dirt and scuff marks. Rodriguez’s 3-run home run in the 7th inning cut the Yankees’ deficit to 8-6 and the Bombers would eventually pull out the victory 10-8. Rodriguez has signed this baseball in blue ballpoint pen on the sweet spot with an inscription handwritten in fine-tipped black marker on the panel directly below his signature that reads “350th H.R. 1000th RBI 3-Run Home run vs Mulder 5-4-04 OAKLAND, CA.” This is a rare double-milestone baseball and it comes with a signed LOA from Alex Rodriguez, who attests in his letter that this ball was used on May 4th, 2004 to hit his 350th career home run and 1,000th RBI.
