The 2004 World Series brought and end to the 86-year drought endured by Red Sox Nation. Their march to the first World Series title since 1918 went through New York where Boston historically overcame a 3-0 deficit to the Yankees in the ALCS to send them to the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Sox dominated the 2004 World Series by knocking off the Cardinals in four straight games.

During Game 3 in St. Louis, Manny Ramirez got the Red Sox on the board with a first-inning home run off of Jeff Suppan. From there, Boston would add a run in the fourth and two runs in the fifth and rode the strong pitching of Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez, who threw seven scoreless innings, striking out six and allowing only three hits for the victory.

Offered here is the on-deck circle used by the Cardinals during Game 3 of the 2004 World Series in St. Louis on October 26, 2004. This rubber circle has a white backing and measures approximately 4-feet 8-inches in diameter. This circle features the 2004 World Series logo in blue, black, silver and white colors with the slogan “We Live For This” below in blue and black. The back of this circle is black with dirt marks and other markings and has a vertical seam. The front of this circle displays outstanding use with various marks and abrasions. This item comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (MT00255170), which authenticates use of this circle during Game 3. There are two additional LOAs, one from Grandstand Sports and the other from Howard Shelton of Major League Baseball, who state that this circle was used during Games 3 & 4 of the 2004 World Series. In Shelton’s letter, he states that the MLB Authenticated hologram listed above was placed on this circle following Game 4.
