When the Mariners released the .245-hitting John Olerud in July 2004, the Yankees quickly snatched him up to replace the injured Jason Giambi. Olerud’s timely hitting helped keep the Yankees in the pennant race all summer, culminating in the team winning their seventh consecutive East Division title. Olerud’s 2004 game used Rawlings 433B model bat is un-cracked and shows excellent use. Several ball marks with stitch impressions are found on the barrel along with blue ink transfers. Scuffs from Olerud’s cleats and bat rack paint streaks are visible and there is a light coat of pine tar on the handle. The model number “433B”, order number “218” and year “04” are stamped into the knob along with “Olerud” and “32” hand written in blue ink. The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (C86352) for the game use.
