The Hall of Fame guard Kobe Bryant wore this pair of Nike Air Zoom Huarache 2K4 sneakers on April 14th, 2004 against the Portland Trail Blazers in the final regular season game of the 2003-04 regular season. Bryant played an exhausting 53 minutes in Los Angeles’ 105-104 double-overtime victory, with the former Lower Merion High School standout knocking down a pair of buzzer-beating three-pointers to clinch the Lakers 56th win of the regular season.

Bryant tied the game at 87-all with one second left in regulation on a 26-foot three, and assisted Shaquille O’Neal’s layup with 30 seconds left in the first overtime period to send the game to a second five-minute overtime period. Bryant nailed a pair of threes in the second overtime, including the game-winner on a Gary Payton assist with one-tenth of a second remaining to give Los Angeles a hard-fought 105-104 victory. The 2007-08 NBA Most Valuable Player finished the game with 37 points, eight rebounds, and five assists for the eventual Western Conference Champion Lakers. Bryant, an All-Star in 2003-04, averaged 24.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in his age-25 season.

The shoes offered in this lot are a pair of Nike Air Zoom Huarache 2K4 sneakers worn by Bryant in the final regular season game of the 2003-04 NBA season. The high-top sneakers are primarily black, with white and yellow accents. A white and black Nike swoosh is sewn on both sides of the shoes. The heels are yellow, and the black strap over the laces and upper heel features “Huarache 2K4” applied in yellow text. The shoes are a size 14. Bryant has signed the toe of each shoe in black marker, inscribing his number “8” below each signature. These historic shoes come with a LOA from the MeiGray Group (MGA005472) for game use and a LOA from JSA for Bryant’s signature.
