The New England Patriots beat the Philadelphia Eagles 24-21 in a thrilling Super Bowl XXXIX. The team was presented with enormous rings, similar to this one presented to a member of the Patriots team personnel, but not simply any old personnel member, but one of the signature people involved in the 2007 infamous Spygate videotaping scandal. We sold the primary cameraman that day, Matt Estrella’s ring in our last auction, but as so often happens when a notorious item is sold for an enormous amount of money ($15,474), similar items are brought out of the woodwork. This ring was presented to Jeff Shirosky, a “facility technician” who also worked the sidelines with Estrella during that opening day Sunday vs. the New York Jets. Shirosky also did work for the New England Revolution, a MLS Robert Kraft owned soccer team. This ring contains CZ faux diamonds, but still remains a magnificent and beautiful ring. The top features the Patriots red and blue emblem with three Lombardi trophies, with raised relief "WORLD" on top with "CHAMPIONS" on bottom. One shank has the name "SHIROSKY" with "3 OUT OF 4", the Patriots logo, the three years "01 03 04" which they won Super Bowls, and the term "21 STRAIGHT." The other side has "BACK TO BACK World's Champions 2004" with the Super Bowl insignia plus the teams and score. Inside this 48.64 gram/size 11.5 ring is engraved "C JOSTEN'S LTM". While this ring is NOT the exact same size and style the players received, in does include the original 3” x 2” x 2.25” presentation box, and is of a special historic nature. This ring remains in Near Mint condition.
