Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame pitcher Pedro Martinez wore this gray road button-down jersey during the 2004 MLB season, his seventh and final season in Boston. The three-time Cy Young Award winner went 16-9 in 2004, accumulating a 3.90 ERA with 227 strikeouts. The jheri-curled star helped the Red Sox break their 86 season World Series drought in 2004 by overcoming a three games to none deficit in the American League Championship Series against the New York Yankees.
This gray road button down Russell Athletic jersey was worn by Martinez in ’04. “BOSTON” is sewn across the chest in red-on-navy blue tackle twill. “Martinez” is sewn across the back shoulders in red-on-navy blue tackle twill over a matching gray nameplate. A MLB logo is sewn above Martinez’s name. Martinez’s number “45” is sewn on the back in red-on-navy tackle twill. A red band rings the sleeve openings of this jersey. A Russell Athletic Authentic Collection tag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. Size “46 100% Polyester”, “+3[inch] Body Length”, and “2004” flags are attached to the tag. This jersey shows moderate signs of game use. This jersey comes with a LOA from noted game worn jersey expert Dave Miedema.
