Gary Sheffield had already eclipsed the 400 home run mark when he entered the 2005 season playing for the New York Yankees. By the end of the season, Sheffield’s 34 home runs would see him almost half the way to the elusive 500 Home Run Club with 459 total home runs. By the time he called it a career following the 2009 season, Sheffield would reach the 500 home run mark with 509 and had 1,676 RBI with a solid .292 batting average.

This offered Rawlings 170B model bat was used by Sheffield during the 2005 season. This bat displays excellent use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks, ball stitch impressions and white leather scuff marks present on the barrel. There is a light coating of Mota Stick on the handle and the lower handle has been heavily taped to cover the knob completely to enhance the grip, a trademark of Sheffield gamers. The model number “170B” has been stamped on the knob and Sheffield has signed his name in contrasting silver marker on the barrel of this all-black bat and inscribe “2005 Game Used .291 AVG 34 HR 123 RBI”. This bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15224) and has been graded a solid GU 8.5. There is also a LOA from JSA (Z64080) for his signature and a Sheffield “Sheff Authenticated” hologram is affixed to the barrel.
