After establishing himself as one of the best pitchers in major league history, Greg Maddux triumphantly returned in 2004 to the team he started with, the Chicago Cubs. The ace right hander won his 300th career game wearing Cubs pinstripes and in April of 2005 became only the 13th pitcher in history to strike out 3,000 batters. This classic Cubs white home jersey dates from Maddux' 2005 season. The blue pinstriped jersey shows appropriate game use with a few small stains scattered throughout. The timeless Cubs logo is on the left front in blue and red embroidery and the cubby bear mascot patch is sewn on the left sleeve. White tagging inside the collar reads "31 48 05 S20" and the Majestic label with added size "48" tagging is sewn in the left front tail. PSA/DNA sticker number V53846 is affixed to the label. The back features Maddux' number "31" in blue and red tackle twill and the ace has signed the "3" in white marker. A very attractive signed jersey from one of the best pitchers to have ever toed the mound at Wrigley Field. Certificate of Authenticity from PSA/DNA for the signature and an LOA from Chicago-based sports jersey expert Dave Miedema.
