When the Astros reached the World Series for their first and only time, marking the first-ever World Series in Texas, R.C. Reuteman was the VP/GM of Houston's Class A affiliate Tri-City Valley Cats. A Wisconsin native, Reuteman devoted his life to baseball, beginning as a Milwaukee Braves batboy and later with over 40 years of service to minor league teams like the Tidewater Tides, Binghamton Mets, Brooklyn Cyclones, Newark Bears and Jacksonville Suns. He passed away in 2015 at the age of 59.
Virtually identical to those received by Clemens, Pettitte and Bagwell, R.C. Reuteman's front-office "A" ring is an Intergold 10K-gold, size 11 example that showcases 68 total points of diamonds. It features a diamond-studded star logo seated on a red stone, with the surrounding text "NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONS" accented by eight more diamonds. A nice red-enamel "FIRST WORLD SERIES" design resides on one shank, while a Minute Maid Park raised-relief image dominates the other. NM condition. Accompanied by a 2010 purchase LOA and the large, elegant presentation box (8" x 5" x 3", NM) with a frosted-glass design reading, "HOUSTON ASTROS / FIRST WORLD SERIES / NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONS 2005."
