One look at his statistics and it’s amazing to see the type of production Ken Griffey Jr. posted, even with injuries hampering him during the prime of his career. The 1997 American League MVP, sixth on Major League Baseball’s all-time home runs list with 630, proved health issues weren’t going to slow him down. In 2005, the season he sported this game-used red alternate button-down Cincinnati Reds jersey, Griffey was named National League Comeback Player of the Year. “The Kid” hit .301 that season with 35 home runs and 92 RBI. 

This offered jersey that was worn by Griffey in 2005 is an all-red Majestic size 48 jersey. The Reds wishbone “C” logo is sewn on in white, red and black tackle twill on the upper left chest, while Griffey’s number “30” is sewn on white, red and black tackle twill on the upper right chest. Black piping runs around the collar, down both sides of the buttons and on each sleeve, about a ½-inch off the ends. A Majestic tag is sewn on the lower front tag with “48” and “+2” BODY” flags. There is also a white tag that reads “PROPERTY OF CINCINNATI REDS 2005”. The back of the jersey has “GRIFFEY” and “30” sewn on in white, red and black tackle twill, with a MLB logo patch in Reds’ colors on the neck. The left sleeve has the Reds’ cartoon logo patch, which is above the Majestic logo that is embroidered in black. This jersey displays light game use and comes with a LOA from Mears, who have graded this jersey a perfect A10.
