Despite a veteran lineup and fierce pitching staff, in the spring of 2005 the New York Yankees found themselves an embarrassing 7 ½ games out of first place. To put their season back on track the Yanks reached into their farm system and pulled a young Robinson Cano out of Columbus. Cano electrified the team, drawing comparisons to Rod Carew by his manager Joe Torre. Cano’s rookie year Rawlings 456B model bat shows heavy use with a crack in the barrel. Adhesive tape has been removed from the handle and Cano has signed the barrel in silver pen adding “Game Used Rookie 2005”. The bat comes with a full GU 8 graded LOA from PSA/DNA (1B12619) for the game use and a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication for the signature.
