The two teams would meet in Super Bowl XXXIX played on February 6, 2005, at Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida. The two titans of the NFL would battle during the close game to a 14-14 tie by the end of the third quarter. New England Patriots wide receiver Deion Branch was named Super Bowl MVP for his 133 receiving yards and his record-tying 11 receptions.
