Despite falling short in the team’s quest for a second Super Bowl championship the Chicago Bears 2006 season was still one for the ages as the Bears posted an NFC best 13-3 regular season record and second straight NFC North division title, defeating the Seattle Seahawks in the first-round divisional playoff and the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Championship game before eventually succumbing to the Peyton Manning led Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLI.
This size-11, 10k Jostens ring was presented to special teams’ player extraordinaire Darrell McClover who recorded eight special teams tackles against Tampa Bay in week 15.
Spectacularly designed ring’s face features a raised section of 11 bright gem stones creating a section of Chicago’s Soldier’s Field upper deck overlooking the Bears black and burnt orange “C” logo encircled by a spiraling ring of 96 diamonds. Right shank highlights the NFC Championship game score of “Bears 39 Saints 14 2006” in relief above and image of the Halas Trophy and “GSH” [George Stanley Halas] initials. Left shank contains McClover’s name in relief above the sculpted image of Soldier’s Field and the Super Bowl XLI logo. This 60.7 gram ring is accompanied by the original 6” x 6” x 5” cherry wood box with metallic Bears burnt orange “C” logo inlaid on the top of the box above “2006 NFC Champions” painted in sparkling silver.
