The Red Sox has had their share of sluggers, from Tris Speaker and Ted Williams to Carl Yastrzemski and Wade Boggs, but none have hit as many single-season home runs as Jimmie Foxx. His 50 recorded in 1938 stood as the insurmountable mark, that is until 2006 when David Ortiz – Big Papi – topped Foxx’s record with 54. This two-tone Rawlings 456B model bat was used by Ortiz during his record-setting 2006 season. The bat shows light use and is un-cracked. Ortiz’s number is written on the knob in black marker and on the barrel in silver. To complete this Ortiz gamer, the Sox’s single-season home run leader has signed the barrel in silver ink. The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13131) for the game use and COA from Steiner for the signature.
