Before Evan Longoria was the leader in almost every major hitting category for the Tampa Bay Rays, he was one of the best prospects in a farm system laden with talent. Baseball America’s number two prospect before his debut in 2008, Longoria’s time in the minors was over quickly, as the star third baseman played only two seasons in the Minor Leagues before his callup. This jersey was worn during his tenure with the low-A Hudson Valley Renegades of the New York-Pennsylvania League. The Renegades were Longoria’s first professional team, and he started hitting for them immediately. Longoria played only eight games for the Renegades, hitting .424 with four home runs and 11 RBI, before he was rapidly promoted to the Visalia Oaks.

This white vest is part of the Renegades home uniform, and it has “RENEGADES” sewn across the chest in maroon, navy blue, and white tackle twill. Longoria’s number “34”, which was changed to “3” in the Majors, is sewn on the front in blue tackle twill and on the back in maroon, navy, and white tackle twill. A MiLB and Rawlings logo are sewn on the back outside collar of the jersey. The sleeve openings on this button down vest are ringed in navy and maroon bands. A Rawlings size “48” tag is attached to the back inside collar, while a second Rawlings tag is sewn on the front left tail. Longoria signed the “3” on the back of the jersey in silver marker. This item comes with a LOA from the Renegades for game use, and a LOA from JSA for the signature (Z56873).
