The Hall of Fame slugger Frank Thomas wore this green and yellow Oakland Athletics batting helmet in 2006, his lone full season with the A’s. Thomas carried his famous power deep into his 30’s, crushing 39 homers with 114 RBI and a .270 batting average. Thomas also kept his keen hitter’s eye, maintaining a 1:1 strikeout to walk ratio as the A’s primary designated hitter. The former Auburn Tiger finished in fourth place in the American League MVP race, his best finish since 2000. Thomas left Oakland for Toronto after the 2006 season ended, but returned to the A’s for the final 55 games of his career in 2008. In his second stint with the A’s, Thomas hit the five of his 521 career dingers. Thomas was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014.

This offered batting helmet is green with a yellow brim and the flap over Thomas’s left ear. Some of the yellow paint has chipped off the brim due to use. A white “A’s” is applied to the forehead of the helmet. Thomas’s number “35” is applied to the back of the helmet in green and yellow numerals over a green, white, and yellow MLB logo. Thomas has signed the brim of the helmet in black marker, inscribing “35” and “’Big Hurt’” in addition to his signature. This helmet comes with a LOA from JT Sports for use by Thomas and a Tristar hologram (7500344) for the signature.
