Presented here is Rusty Staub’s personal Texas Baseball Hall of Fame award. “Le Grand Orange” joined this prestigious institution in 2006, after a playing career that included stops in Houston, with the Colt .45’s and Astros, and a season with the Texas Rangers, in 1980. Staub signed with the expansion Colt .45’s out of high school in 1961, and by the age of 19 was a regular in the Houston starting nine. He played for Houston until 1968, when another expansion team, the Montreal Expos, acquired his services. Staub retired in 1985 after 23 sterling major league seasons.
