In what was considered the greatest upset in Super Bowl history, the New York Giants entered Super Bowl XLII as heavy underdogs to the undefeated New England Patriots. The Patriots were on the verge of making history themselves in trying to become the first team since the 1972 Miami Dolphins to finish the entire season undefeated. Led by the staunch defensive unit and the heroics of Eli Manning, the Giants defeated the Patriots 17-14 to claim the title.

Offered here is a game issued white New York Giants jersey for one of the defensive stars of that Super Bowl Barry Cofield. This mesh Reebok jersey has Cofield’s number “96” sewn on in red tackle twill on the front, back and shoulders. “COFIELD” is sewn on in red tackle twill on a matching white name plate on the back of the jersey. The Super Bowl XLII patch is sewn on the upper left chest and the NFL EQUIPMENT patch is sewn at the base of the v-neck with “NY” embroidered in red above the number.
