Winter 2014 Auction Closing Feb 7

Offered is a Kansas City jersey worn by Alex Gordon during a "Turn Back the Clock" game on July 21, 2007. This Negro League tribute honors the old Kansas City Monarchs, the longest run franchise in Negro League history. The Monarchs were the first professional team to use lights to play at night, five years before MLB did. Players who were part of the Monarchs included Satchel Paige, Jackie Robinson, Ernie Banks, and Elston Howard. The button down gray road jersey features "MONARCHS" arched across the chest and Gordon's number "7" on the back, both in red tackle twill. The front tail has size "48" AIS label, affixed with an MLB hologram sticker number BB 559524, and a black Sharpie "Alex Gordon" signature just above. Nice game use is exhibited with dirt stains along the shoulder area, with light pine tar marks. This is a great gamer from one of the games young stars, worn during his rookie season in Kansas City. COA from PSA/DNA for the signature. Multiple images and LOAs available at goldinauctions.com.
