In 2007, Alex Rodriguez had one of the finest offensive seasons in recent history, leading baseball with both 56 home runs and 156 RBI while winning his third American League MVP Award. On August 4th, 2007, Rodriguez became the youngest player in MLB history to hit 500 home runs with a blast off of Royals pitcher Kyle Davies. Rodriguez wore these batting gloves on August 29th, 2007, when he hit his 508th career home run during a 4-3 victory against the Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium. Rodriguez finished 2-4, taking Josh Beckett deep in the seventh inning for his 44th home run of the season.
These Nike gloves are white, gray, and blue, with a blue and white swoosh sewn on the top of each hand. The wrist straps feature an “ARod” wordmark, and the underside of the straps a “13” tag. Rodriguez signed the palm of each glove in blue marker, inscribing “HR #508 vs Beckett” on each glove. These gloves come with a LOA from Alex Rodriguez.
