Former All-Star centerfielder Andy Van Slyke wore this Detroit Tigers road jersey during Spring Training of the 2007 season, when he served as the first base coach for Jim Leyland’s Tigers. Van Slyke had an excellent MLB career, playing 13 seasons, primarily for the Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals. Van Slyke made three All-Star teams and won five Gold Glove awards during his exemplary playing career.
This gray, button-down jersey has “Detroit” and Van Slyke’s number “18” sewn on the chest in navy blue, orange, and white tackle twill. “VAN SLYKE” and a second “18” are sewn on the back of the jersey in navy blue, orange, and white tackle twill beneath a MLB logo patch. Majestic and “18 46 07 ST 121” tags are sewn on the front left tail of this jersey. This jersey comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (BB 489663), which authenticates use to Spring Training in 2007.
