The NFL made history on October 28th, 2007 as the New York Giants took on the Miami Dolphins at Wembley Stadium in London in what was the first ever NFL regular season game outside of North America. Dubbed the “mud-fest” by Giants’ quarterback Eli Manning, the Giants won a sloppy 13-10 victory, one of the important victories to get them into the playoffs that led to the shocking defeat of the undefeated New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.

Offered here is the very jersey worn by Giants’ defensive end Osi Umenyiora during the October 29th game in London. This white size 42 Reebok jersey, which is now covered in dirt, features Umenyiora’s number “72” sewn on in red tackle twill on the front, back and shoulders. The Giants “NY” is embroidered in red above the number in front and the “NFL EQUIPMENT” patch is sewn on the base of the v-neck collar. A special “NFL INTERNATIONAL SERIES LONDON” patch is sewn on the upper left chest. “UMINYIORA” is sewn on in red tackle twill on a matching white rounded name plate on the back, above the numbers. Each shortened sleeve, which was tailored to wrap around the shoulder pads, has three red stripes in red appliqué with the Reebok logo patch between the numbers and stripes. The inside collar has a team patch that reads “07-42”. This jersey displays outstanding game use with the aforementioned dirt stains throughout the jersey, consistent with the rainy and muddy conditions during the game at London’s Wembley Stadium.
