Already surpassing the 500-home run mark, Alex Rodriguez continued to add to his lofty home run totals in his pursuit of 600 home runs. During the September 4th, 2008 game against Jason Hammel and the Tampa Bay Rays, Rodriguez connected for his 550th career home run using this Louisville Slugger C271L model bat. Rodriguez’s solo home run came in the top of the ninth inning and was the 32nd round-tripper of the 2008 season.
This bat displays outstanding game use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks, stitch impressions, blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs present on the barrel. There is also cleat marks. There is a moderate coating of pine tar on the handle. Rodriguez has signed his name in silver marker on the barrel and inscribed “Career HR #550 vs. Hammel 9/4/08” and “Youngest to 550 HR’s”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B25396) for the game use and has been given the highest possible grade of GU 10.
