Super Bowl XLII may go down as one of the greatest Super Bowl’s of all-time. The New England Patriots, looking to make history by becoming the first-ever team to go 19-0, faced the heavy underdog New York Giants. The Giants, led by quarterback Eli Manning’s fourth quarter heroics, defeated the Patriots 17-14 and earned the franchise’s third Lombardi Trophy.
Offered is the helmet worn by backup quarterback Anthony Wright during Super Bowl XLII. This blue helmet has a red stripe down the middle and the Giants’ “ny” logo in white on both sides. Wright’s number “2” is on the front of the helmet on the red stripe, above the white padded facemask holder with a “ny” in blue and red. The Schutte facemask has two bars in front and the hard-plastic and padded chin-strap is still intact. The back of the helmet has the circular bright green communication sticker on the red stripe, with a black circular sticker with “21” in white in memory of Sean Taylor, an American Flag decal, the Super Bowl XLII logo decal and Wright’s number “2” on the red stripe. The helmet’s inner padding is still intact. This helmet does not show much game use as Wright did not play in the game.
