The Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was presented with this award from Butler High School in Huntsville, Alabama in 2008. The awarded was proffered to Abdul-Jabbar “in Recognition of [his] Dedication to Education”. Abdul-Jabbar is a noted academic, having studied history while a student at UCLA and authoring numerous highly-acclaimed books on subjects ranging from non-fiction about the 761st Tank Battalion to novels filling in the life of a young Mycroft Holmes. This award measures 8 x 10 inches. A large three-dimensional crest is applied to the top of this award plaque. This item comes with a LOA signed by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar himself.
