Carlos Beltran wore this Mets home jersey on September, 28, 2008, during the final game at Shea Stadium. Shea was the home of the Mets from 1964 to 2008, and was their stadium during the 1969 and 1986 World Series championship runs. Despite the best efforts of Beltran, who finished 1-3 with a home run, two RBI, and a walk, the Mets fell to the visiting Florida Marlins 4-2. Beltran’s home run was the last one hit by a Met in Shea. Scott Schoeneweis picked up the loss for the Mets, entering the game in the top of the eighth and allowing a home run to the only batter he faced.

This Majestic size 46 white button-down home jersey features “Mets” sewn across the front in blue-on-orange tackle twill with black drop shadow. Beltran’s number “15” is sewn on the front and the back in blue-on-orange tackle twill with black drop shadow. “BELTRAN” is sewn across the back shoulders in blue-on-orange tackle twill with black drop shadow. The left sleeve features a circular Mets’ skyline patch, and the right has a Shea Stadium commemorative patch sewn on. Blue piping runs down the front of the jersey, around the collar, and around the opening of the sleeves. The under-arm areas are made of white mesh fabric. Beltran signed the “5” digit on the back in silver Sharpie. This jersey shows excellent signs of use, with dirt stains present on the front and sleeves of the jersey. This jersey comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (LH 020750) and a Mets-Steiner LOA. The signature has been pre-certified by Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication.
