There isn't any better Derek Jeter photo matched game used jersey than this. Worn by the Yankee star on Opening Day 2008, this pinstripe jersey can be exactly matched to one worn that day by the distinctive dirt marks on its front. After Opening Day was cancelled due to rain, April 1 was actually Opening Night at Yankee Stadium. It was the final season played at the old Yankee Stadium and was also Jeter's 13th Opening Day start at shortstop, breaking the old record held by Phil Rizzuto. The ground was still wet that night and a good portion of it wound up on the front of Jeter's jersey, especially when he was caught stealing in the first inning. All the better for us as we can match it with a large photograph taken that night of the shortstop. This color 10" x 19" print is included with the jersey. Jeter went 1 for 4 that night, a nice start to a season that would see him batting an even .300 and play in his 9th All-Star Game. Besides its solid photo match and game used certification, this jersey stands as a graphic reminder of the hard-nosed play Derek Jeter displayed throughout his long career. When the Yankee star retires at the end of the 2014 season, baseball will have lost one of its greatest competitors.
