Former Major League manager Jim Leyland won 1,769 games in 22 seasons as manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Florida Marlins, Colorado Rockies and Detroit Tigers. Leyland spent his first 11 of those seasons in Pittsburgh, where he was Manager of the Year in 1990 and 1992, leading the Pirates to three consecutive National League East titles. Leyland also was Manager of the Year for the Detroit Tigers in 2006.

     Leyland was issued this size 44 pullover navy blue Majestic batting practice jersey for the 2008 All-Star Game festivities at the old Yankee Stadium, where he served as one of the coach’s under Boston’s Terry Francona. “AMERICAN” is across the chest on a felt patch that has the famous Yankee Stadium façade above “AMERICAN”. The Majestic manufactures label that reads “MLB ALL*STAR GAME 2008” is screen-printed to the bottom left front tail. The back of the jersey has “LEYLAND” sewn on in white tackle twill and his number “10” sewn on in white and gray tackle twill, with the MLB logo patch sewn on the upper back neck in red, white and navy blue. The left sleeve has the “2008 ALL-STAR GAME” patch and the right sleeve has the Old English Detroit “D” sewn in white tackle twill. The sides of this jersey have a gray and white vertical stripe. The jersey shows moderate use and Leyland signed his name in blue marker on the “1” vertically, while inscribing “2008 All Star Game BP Jersey” vertically on the “0”. This jersey comes with a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (B53108) for the signature and a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
