Great black leather Nike glove used by the best relief pitcher in baseball. In 18 years all spent in Yankee pinstripes, Mariano Rivera is MLB’s all-time leader in saves (608) and still counting. This is the glove he wore during the 2008 season in which he added 39 saves to his career totals and earn himself a place on the AL All-Star team. This Nike ProGold Tradition glove is customized for Rivera’s use with his name “Mariano Rivera” in white script embroidery on the outside of the thumb, his number “42” on the wrist strap. As is his custom, Rivera’s glove is embroidered with the inscription “PHIL 4.13” which is in reference to the Bible verse Philippians 4:13 (“I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me”). As befits the best reliever in baseball history, the glove shows light game use. Hologram Steiner sticker is affixed to the wrist of the glove and a Certificate of authenticity from Steiner Sports Memorabilia is included. An incredible momento from the greatest reliever in baseball history, used during the final season of the mecca of the sports world, old Yankee Stadium.
