October Legends and Americana Ending November 14th

One of the big heroes of the Phillies' October glory, middle reliever J.C. Romero pitched 4 scoreless innings and picked up the win in both Game 3 and the Game 5 clincher. Thus, the Puerto Rico-born southpaw will forever hold a special place in the hearts of Philly fans—and his championship ring presented here is the first player's example that has ever reached auction. 2008 rings of broadcaster Harry Kalas and Phils alum Robin Roberts have sold for over $50,000 and over $30,000 respectively, while Coach Ramon Henderson's ring topped $27,500. But we have yet to see what precedent Romero will set with this first entry in that most coveted of all genres: player rings. The huge, glittering, diamond-encrusted treasure is a wonder to behold with its prominently raised "P" set atop a ruby inlay and surrounded by a sparkling sea. Diamonds also appear on both shanks, as part of the Liberty Bell logo and then above the stadium/trophy design. What's more, the 14K-white-gold, size 9 ring is accompanied by Romero's frosted-glass presentation box, with his impeccable autograph on the reverse, "J.C. Romero / #16 / 08 W.S. Champs!" Comes with LOA from Romero himself.
