The New York Yankees captured their record 27th World Series championship on November 4, 2009 with a 7-3 Game 6 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies at Yankee Stadium. The Yanks defeated the Phillies, 4 games to 2. Alex Rodriguez, the Yankees All-Star third baseman, appeared in his only World Series in 2009, batting .250 with three doubles, one home run and six RBI.  His two-run home run off Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels in the fourth inning of Game 3 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia was crucial and the turning point in the 2009 World Series.

Rodriguez has signed his name and inscribed this 2009 World Series Champions baseball cap in silver marker on the brim, inscribing below his signature “WS Champs 09 Celebration!”. The white mesh front of the black New Era 39 Thirty cap is dirty from the post-game celebration, around the logo, which is embroidered in aqua, navy, white, red, and gold. The white New Era logo is embroidered on the left side of the cap, and the back of the cap has the World Series trophy embroidered in white, gold and blue. This cap comes with a signed LOA from Alex Rodriguez.
