David Wright wore this white New York Mets alternate home jersey on April 13th, 2009, during the first regular season game ever played at Citi Field. Wright, as he has done for most of the 21st century, powered the Mets offense by notching the first Mets hit and home run in their new home. Wright doubled his first time up in the bottom of the first inning against San Diego Padres starter Walter Silva before crushing a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to tie the ballgame at five. Wright finished the game, a 6-5 Padres victory, with three RBI and a run scored.

This white button-down jersey has “Mets” sewn across the chest in blue, orange, and black tackle twill. Wright’s number “5” is sewn on the chest and back in blue, orange, and black tackle twill. “WRIGHT” is sewn across the back shoulders in blue, orange, and black tackle twill beneath a blue and orange MLB logo patch. Blue piping accents the chest, collar, and sleeves of this Cool Base jersey. A Citi Field inaugural season patch is sewn on the right sleeve, and a Mets skyline logo patch is sewn on the left. A Majestic size “48” tag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. The underarm areas of this jersey are made of a white mesh fabric. This jersey displays good evidence of use, including a large dirt stain around the left chest and sleeve.

Wright has signed the right chest of this jersey in black marker. He inscribed “Game Used 1st Hit [and] 1st HR by a Met @ Citi Field Opening Day 4/13/09”. This jersey comes with a COA from Amazin’ Mets Memorabilia and a MLB Authenticated hologram (LH 306333), which authenticates use to the April 13th contest.
