After his illustrious playing career ended, Gene Tenace became a coach for several MLB and MiLB organizations, most notably the Toronto Blue Jays. Tenace won rings with the Jays in 1992 and 1993, adding to the championships he won as a player with the Athletics and Cardinals. Tenace retired from coaching after the 2009 season, spent with the Blue Jays.
Tenace wore this gray Blue Jays road jersey on October 3rd, 2009, during his penultimate game as a MLB coach due to his retirement after the 2009 campaign. This button-down jersey has “TORONTO” and Tenace’s number “18” sewn on the chest in blue, black, and white tackle twill. “TENACE” and a second “18” are sewn on the back of the jersey in blue, black, and white tackle twill. A metallic silver and blue MLB logo patch is sewn on the back outside collar of this jersey. A Ted Rogers memorial patch and a Blue Jays logo are sewn on the left sleeve above a Majestic logo. A maple leaf patch is sewn on the right sleeve. A Majestic size “50” tag is applied to the front left tail of this jersey. This jersey is accompanied by a MLB Authenticated hologram (LH 126882).
