Former Major League manager Jim Leyland won 1,769 games in 22 seasons as manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Florida Marlins, Colorado Rockies and Detroit Tigers. Leyland spent his first 11 of those seasons in Pittsburgh, where he was Manager of the Year in 1990 and 1992, leading the Pirates to three consecutive National League East titles. Leyland also was Manager of the Year for the Detroit Tigers in 2006.

Leyland wore this 1909 style throwback jersey during the June 14, 2009 game between his old team the Pittsburgh Pirates and his current team at that time the Detroit Tigers at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. The Pirates defeated the Tigers 6-3 at as both teams wore throwback-style uniforms with wide collars to honor the 100th anniversary of the Tigers-Pirates World Series. This size 44 cream-colored button-down partial pullover jersey was manufactured by AIS and features a navy blue collar. On the upper left chest is the Old English “D” sewn on in navy blue tackle twill. Leyland’s number “10” is sewn on the back of the jersey in navy blue. Also unique to this jersey are the ¾ sleeve lengths which were the style worn at the turn of the 20th century. On the number “1” on the back of the jersey in silver marker, Leyland signed his name. He inscribed “Game Used Turn back the Clock” on the “0”. This jersey shows light use and comes with a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (B54312) and a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
