Offered is a game-used baseball signed and inscribed by New York Yankees relief pitcher Mariano Rivera from the 2009 World Series. Rivera has signed and inscribed the Official Ball World Series Allan H. Selig baseball in blue ink below the gold-stamped 2009 World Series logo, “Mariano Rivera Final W.S. Save 09 W.S. Champs 11/20.” The right-handed reliever played 19 MLB seasons for the Yankees from 1995 to 2013. Rivera picked up his second, and final career World Series save of the 2009 World Series in Game 4 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, entering the game in the bottom of the ninth against the Phillies and throwing eight pitches. Rivera pitched in Game 6, the World Series clincher for the Yankees in Yankee Stadium, in a non-save situation. The Yankees defeated the Phillies, 4 games to 2, to win their 27th World Series championship, and the fifth for Rivera. Rivera is MLB’s career leader in saves (652) and games finished (952).
