San Francisco Giants ace Matt Cain wore this gray Giants road jersey on October 3rd, 2009. The Giants faced the san Diego Padres at Petco Park, falling by a score of 2-0 despite an excellent start from Cain. The Alabaman tossed five solid innings, allowing only two runs and striking out five Padres before he was relieved by an up-and-coming rookie by the name of Madison Bumgarner. Cain finished the 2009 season with a record of 14-8 and a 2.89 ERA. He made the first of his three career All-Star teams in 2009.
This button-down jersey has “SAN FRANCISCO” sewn across the chest in black, orange, and gold tackle twill. “CAIN” is sewn on the back shoulders in black, orange, and gold tackle twill over a matching gray nameplate. Cain’s number “18” is sewn on the back of the jersey in black, orange, and gold tackle twill. A MLB logo patch is sewn on the back outside collar. The left sleeve features a Giants logo patch, while a memorial patch for Giants owner Sue Burns is sewn on the right sleeve.
