With five NBA Championships between the years of 2000 and 2010, the Los Angeles Lakers find no competition for its stature as the greatest modern dynasty in American sports. This title was also the 15th of the storied NBA franchise, which was a major influence on the crafting of this extravagant piece of bling. Presented here is the glorious symbol of the organization’s 15th trip to the mountain top. Stamped and tested at fifteen karat gold, the ring boasts 148 round brilliant-cut diamonds with a total carat weight of 2.75, and the ring a gross weight of 64.6 grams.
The face has the Lakers logo atop the NBA Larry O’Brien Trophy on a bed of flush to the edge diamonds. On each side of the face are seven larger diamonds, with these 14 side diamonds representing the 14 prior Laker NBA titles, and “2009 WORLD CHAMPIONS”.
The left shank features an image of the LA skyline, the year "09" and the regular season record of "65-17." The name "DONOVAN" at top of the left shank is that of the rings recipient. While actual player rings have a player image and their etched number on this shank, the front office and other presented rings contain the skyline.
The right shank lists the results of each Playoff series, with a Roman numeral "XV" keeping count of franchise Championships. The size 11.25/64.6 gram 15K gold ring is uniquely limited to represent their 15th Championship and the band is stamped "JBH-096, 15K" within. A unique ring, tremendous in its scope and tradition, one of the few rings form this team to come up for auction. Excellent to Mint condition.
